| Sherpani Rumba Baby Carrier Gets You to the Crag! |
|
So you had a baby. Yep, this is a big deal for sure but you are still a rock climber so you have some things to sort out. First, you have to get that baby to the crag. When your tyke still has a wobbly neck--up to 4 months or so--you'll need a front carrier or a sling, but once they have control of their head, it is time to invest in a larger carrier. Our pick for the carrier with the best feature set is the Sherpani Rumba (7 lbs. 8 oz., $229). First you get a comfortable, super-beefy expedition suspension system that has many adjustment points including the on-the-fly adjustment system to make it easier to switch users. A five point system allows you to secure your baby easily in the seat. A series of cargo pockets allows you carry up to 2800 cu. in. of stuff--the most cargo space of any carrier. The kick stand allows for a secure stand alone position. A well-designed sun shade/rain cover is included, as are stirrups. The carrier is rated to 70 pounds: 50 for the kid, 20 in cargo. Sherpani also offers the Rumba Superlight which offers a trimmed down feature set and price tag (4 lbs. 12 oz., $169).
