Access and trails to climbing areas at the New have seen a "face-lift" over the years. The New River Alliance of Climbers has put in a lot of work over the years, working closely with the National Park Service to improve trails and reduce climber impact. The next projects on the hit list are focused around re-vegetating some of the popular climbing areas like The Bridge Buttress and Junk Yard Wall. The New River Rendezvous has been the primary fundraiser for all NRAC projects and should be supported by all interested climbers. Hopefully we will end up with  more user friendly trails, better access, and a better New River Gorge for everyone.. Look for volunteer opportunities on upcoming projects on this site and at www.newriverclimbing.org or call Water Stone Outdoors at 304-574-2425.
