Learn to Rock Climb!New River Mountain Guides Teen Rock Climbing Camps are held in the New River Gorge National Park located in Southern West Virginia. Our Teen Rock Climbing Camps are geared toward teens that want to take their climbing to the next level. RockCampers in our programs will experience real rock in the New River Gorge National Park and surrounding areas, learn to climb, find out how it formed and learn about the rich area history. This camp is suitable for co-ed teens age 12-18 who are new to climbing as well as those who are totally addicted to it. We'll lay a solid foundation of climbing skills with an emphasis on safety and sound judgment. RockCampers will learn to advance their climbing technique, knowledge of gear and equipment, and the importance of ethics, teamwork, problem-solving, and trust. New River Mountain Guides Rock Climbing Camp curriculum includes climbing skills such as knots, belaying, rappelling, and mock-lead climbing with the safety of back-up top rope. RockCampers will also learn valuable outdoor skills such as camping, cooking, water treatment, Leave No Trace practices, leadership and natural history. Each day we'll go to a new climbing area from the New River Gorge to Summersville Lake. We maintain a low camper to guide ratio of 4 to 1 safety and to maximize experiential learning time on the rock. Maximum number of campers per session is 8. Basic Climbing Camp Package Includes
